I will first present some well known
facts about Fuchs type operators, which
include results about some specific degenerate
eliptic equations on manifolds with boundary.
These are operators that are natural enough
to expect them to arise in concrete situations.
Then I will say a few words about some
generalizations of these results to more
complicated degeneracies.
