The regularity of wavelets currently seems to be a major topic of investigation having important applications. Except in trivial cases, there are no closed form expressions for compactly supported wavelets, and estimating the regularity is non-trivial. In the talk I will discuss our unified approach to wavelet regularity via the thermodynamic formalism. I will not assume any prior knowledge of wavelets or thermodynamic formalism.
